FLRHA “Central Outlaws” Information guide for

2020-2021 season

CRC and Speedskills Hockey Clinics begin September 14

 NYSAHA Practices T.B.D

 

Objective – To balance home and away contests while scheduling competitive games.  This will minimize travel costs as well as having a 3:1 ratio of practices to games.

Travel Season and Schedule:

  • Free Clinics governed by CRC begins September 14, 2020 (3 sessions per week)
  • Speedskills w/ Mike Radja training begins September 16, 2020 (1 session per week)
  • Games will begin upon guidance of NYSAHA (1 home 1 away ice slot every weekend)

Game limit guidelines per level per season:

  • Bantam      30   +  3 Away Tournaments or overnight event
  • PeeWee     30   +  3 Away Tournaments or overnight event
  • Squirts        30   + 3 Away Tournaments or overnight event
  • 16 u            20    + 2 Away Tournaments or overnight event
  • 18 u            20    + 2 Away Tournaments or overnight event

 

Fall sport seasons take the precedence over the beginning of hockey season. Parents should manage participation accordingly and work with coaches.

Guidelines for athletes:

  • One practice “option” per day allowed, (any Fall school sport)  “Fall” In policy – “Spring Out” policy
  • Recommended one game per day per team (tournaments excluded)
  • One day off per week
  •  Three game hockey weekends are not recommended unless roster size is a minimum of 16 player quantity. Tournaments are exceptions

Tournaments or overnight Events:

  • SQ ,PW, BANTAMS travel teams may schedule a maximum of three tournaments or overnight events. Away tournaments or overnight event weekends are funded 100% by parents.  
  • The scheduling tournament or overnight limitation excludes advancement in tournaments such as Sectionals, Silver Stick finals or NYS State Tournament.  Parents/Guardians and coaches will be responsible to fund additional advancement tournament play.
  • 16u and 18u two overnight events are permitted and are the financial burden of each team.
  • Squirt, Pee Wee, Bantam NTB travel #2 teams Three overnight events are permitted and are the financial burden of the team.
  • All Tournament entry fees will be paid directly by Finger lakes Regional Hockey Assoc. team managers will be responsible for collecting fees from parents submitting to Finger lakes and then payment will be made directly from Finger lakes to Tournament director or company. 
  • The board of directors and its tournament director with coaches will work together to select proper tournaments of all age divisions.

School attendance is important – Therefore scheduling efforts will be made to eliminate the need for athletes to be absent from school.

Mite and Initiation programs: Begins October 8th

  •  Mites ages 7&8 will be separated into two division first year players and second year players
  • First year - Practice training and in-house games against one another and randomly other teams
  • Second year – Practice training and games against other associations some travel

Move Up Policy- If a first- year player shows exceptional skills he will be moved to advanced second year age division.

All Mite parents must register players by October 5 thru www.fingerlakeshockey.com prior to entering the ice surface. NO Exceptions. All aspects of registration including payment must be completed by this time.

  • Initiation Program ages 4,5,6 begins October 9 ends February 28 all players must register by October 5th www.fingerlakeshockey.com before entering the ice

 

2020-2021 season fees for Mites & Initiation

  • Initiation program begins October 9th ages 4,5,6 $295.00 due 10/5/2020 (www.fingerlakeshockey.com) Two practices every weekend- No weekday sessions
  • Mites program begins 10/8 ages 7,8  $480.00 due 10/5/2020 (www.fingerlakeshockey.com)  Three practices per Friday Saturday Sunday and random games on weekends

(Registration will remain open for this program until December 1,2020)

 

Travel Team Tryouts:

 Have been suspended for this season due to Covid-19. On ice evaluations for team placement will be conducted once NYSAHA grants permission for associations to commence the season.

All Travel Teams must register on Line with payment in Full by 9/5/2020 thru www.fingerlakeshockey.com

 

Travel teams: (four home ice sessions every week)

  • Squirt Travel birth year 2010, 2011 – $1425 due 9/5/2020 applied membership fee
  • Pee Wee birth year 2008, 2009 - $1425 due 9/5/2020 applied membership fee
  • Bantam birth year 2006, 2007 - $1425 due 9/5/2020 applied membership fee
  • 16u / 18u birth year 2002,2003,2004,2005 - $995 due 9/5/2020 applied membership fee

Free clinics thru Community Recreational Center and Speed skills Hockey begin September 14th.

 

  Selection Process and announcement of Travel teams:

    Covid -19 has altered much of our process of travel team selections. Once approved by NYSAHA our association will conduct on ice evaluation determining the placement of players to rosters of either tournament bound or non- tournament bound travel teams. There are no cuts thru this process, by registration you are confirmed a outlaw player for the upcoming 2020-2021 season.

 Until on ice evaluations and practices are permitted by NYSAHA players may participate in free hockey clinics provided by Community Recreational Center and Speed skills Hockey. We will keep you informed of when NYSAHA permits on ice evaluations and practices.

At completion of on ice evaluations and team placements players will be asked to sign the NYS player commitment document.

NTB #2 TRAVEL TEAMS:

  • NTB travel teams will receive three team home sessions and one skills session every week,
  • 30  games and 3 tournaments

Squirt birth year 2010- 2011 - $1425.00 is due 9/5 applied membership fee

Pee Wee Birth Year 2008-2009 - $1425.00 is due 9/5 applied membership fee

Bantam Birth Year 2006-2007 - $1425.00 is due 9/5 applied membership fee

 

Players selected for this team will be posted on the www.fingerlakeshockey.com

All players must sign Association / Player Commitment form at the end of on ice evaluations –

Friday practice and Sunday home games are subject to College reservations of Ithaca College and Cornell University Club hockey these will be random conflicts during the season.
