FLRHA “Central Outlaws” and Information guide for

2020-2021 season

All Practices and home games hosted at “CRC- The Rink”

OBJECTIVE – To balance home and away contests while scheduling competitive games. This will minimize travel costs as well as have a 3:1 ratio of practices to games.

TRAVEL TEAMS 1 AND 2 SEASON AND SCHEDULE:

~ Practice and Season begins September 7, 2020 (2 team practices per week)
~ Speedskills w/ Mike Radja begins September 9, 2020 (1 session per week)
~ Games begin September 26th and conclude by March 7th (1 home ice slot every weekend per team at CRC or JM McDonald Center). Team advancing to States will continue through March.
~ Midgets-16u/18u teams will begin season no later than August 15 to satisfy USA hockey game count requirements

       ·       10 team practices, required before the first game
       ·       8 individual practices, required before first game
       ·       Game limit guidelines per level per season:

      o   Squirts           30  + 3 Away Tournaments or overnight event allowed
             o   Pee Wees      30  +  3 Away Tournaments or overnight event allowed
            
o   Bantams         30  +  3 Away Tournaments or overnight event allowed
             o  
16U                 20  + 2 Away Tournaments or overnight event allowed
           
o   18U                  20  + 2 Away Tournaments or overnight event allowed

Fall sport seasons take the precedence over the beginning of hockey season. Parents should manage participation accordingly and work with coaches.
 

GUIDELINES FOR ATHLETES:

  • One practice “option” per day suggested, (any Fall school sport)  “Fall” In policy – “Spring Out” policy
  • One day off per week from hockey – day of rest policy
  • Three game hockey weekends are not recommended unless roster size is a minimum of 16 player quantity. Tournaments are exceptions

TOURNAMENTS OR OVERNIGHT EVENTS:

  • SQ , PW, BANTAMS teams may schedule a maximum of three tournaments or overnight events. Away tournaments or overnight event weekends are funded 100% by parents. 
  • The tournament scheduling or overnight limitations excludes advancement tournaments such as Sectionals, Silver Stick or NYS State Tournament. Parents/Guardians and coaches will also be responsible to fund advancement tournament play.
  • 16u and 18u two overnight events are permitted and are the financial burden of each team.
  • Squirt, Pee Wee, Bantam NTB #2 teams two overnight events are permitted and are the financial burden of the team
  • All Tournament entry fees will be paid directly by Finger Lakes Regional Hockey Assoc. Team managers will be responsible for collecting fees from parents, submitting to Finger Lakes and then payment will be made directly from Finger Lakes to Tournament Director or company. 
  • The Board of Directors and its Tournament Director with coaches will work together to select proper tournaments of all age divisions.

School attendance is important – Therefore, scheduling efforts should be made to eliminate the need for athletes to be absent from school.

 

MITE AND LEARN TO PLAY PROGRAMS:

  • Mites ages 7 & 8 will be separated into two divisions: 1st year players and 2nd year players   
  • First year - Practice training and in house games against one another and randomly other teams
  • Second year – Practice training and games against other associations some travel
  • Move Up Policy- If a first year player shows exceptional skills he or she will be moved to advanced second year age division.
  • All Mite parents must register players thru www.fingerlakeshockey.com prior to entering the ice surface. NO Exceptions.  All aspects of registration including payment must be completed by this time.
  • Learn to play/Initiation Program ages 4,5,6 begins October 3 and ends Feb 28th. All players must register through www.fingerlakeshockey.com before entering the ice

2019-2020 SEASON FEES FOR MITES & I.P.

  • Learn to Play/Initiation hockey begins 10/3 ages 4,5,6 $295.00 due 9/30/2020 (www.fingerlakeshockey.com)
  • Mites program begins 10/2 ages 6,7,8  $680.00 due 9/30/2020 (www.fingerlakeshockey.com)
  • NEW: Mites will receive 3 tournament INCLUDED within their registration fees and THREE practices per week. Parents will not be responsible to come up with extra fees throughout the season

Registration will remain open for the program until Dec 1, 2020


TRAVEL TEAM TRYOUTS

May 2nd & 3rd  ($150.00 tryout fee made payable by check: finger lakes regional hockey assoc.)

If selected for the team $100 will be removed from season league fees. Those not selected there will be no refund granted.

Players attending tryouts that were not registered as Central Outlaws last year must show proof of player release form. It must be signed by president of your previous association and submitted in hard copy.

 

2020-2021 SEASON FEES FOR ALL TRAVEL TEAMS:

All Travel Teams register online with payment in Full by 9/1/2020 (except Midget: due by 8/15/20)  www.fingerlakeshockey.com

Travel teams:

  • Squirt Travel birth year 2010, 2011 – $1420 due 9/1/2020 applied tryout credit $100
  • Pee Wee birth year 2008, 2009 - $1420 due 9/1/2020 applied tryout credit $100
  • Bantam birth year 2006, 2007 - $1420 due 9/1/2020 applied tryout credit $100
  • 16u / 18u birth year 2002,2003,2004,2005 - $1020 due 8/15/2020 applied tryout credit $100

 

SELECTION PROCESS AND ANNOUNCEMENT OF TRAVEL TEAMS:

Friday, May 8, 2020 team rosters will be posted with selected players for the 2020-2021 season on www.fingerlakeshockey.com, Player/Association Commitment forms are to be signed immediately at the end of the second and final tryout. Any player leaving the final tryout without a signed commitment form will not be considered for team rostering.

Players not selected for the team- will not be posted on the website and commitment forms will be terminated at this time.   

Without a signed commitment form you cannot be considered for the 2020-2021 season. This policy has been set forth by NYSAHA Central Section President- Gary Lebrun- USA Hockey Central Section District Director

 

NTB (non-Tournament Bound) Travel Teams:

Tryouts are June 14th, 2020. FLRHA will be offering a Squirt, Pee Wee and Bantam NTB Independent travel teams this season. NTB Travel team will receive two team practices, one skills session, 30 games, two tournament. Tryout fees are $150 non- refundable if you are selected $100 is applied to season fee structure.

  • Squirt birth year 2010, 2011 - $1420.00 is due 9/1/20 applied tryout credit $100
  • Pee Wee Birth Year 2008-2009 - $1420.00 is due 9/1 applied tryout credit $100
  • Bantam Birth Year 2006-2007- $1420 is due 9/1 applied tryout credit $100

Players selected for this team will be posted on the www.fingerlakeshockey.com website By August 17, 2020

All players must sign Association / Player Commitment form at the end of tryout – Players will not be considered if this form is not completed. If you are not selected for the team you will not appear on the website and the commitment form will be terminated.

Tryout Fees are $150 non- refundable made payable to Finger Lakes Regional Hockey Assoc. if selected $100 will be credited towards season fees

Season Begins:  September 7th  thru March 7th.  

  • SQ NTB TEAM #2                 30 GAMES + 3 Away Tournaments or overnights allowed
  • PW NTB TEAM #2               30 Games + 3 Away Tournaments or overnights allowed
  • BANTAM NTB TEAM #2       30 Games + 3 Away Tournaments or overnights allowed

These players are required to attend 8 team practices before scheduling or playing in their first game to begin no later than Sept 26, 2020

Friday practice and Sunday home games are subject to College reservations of Ithaca College and Cornell University Club hockey. These will be random conflicts during the season.
