FLRHA “Central Outlaws” and Information guide for

2019-2020 season

All Practices and home games hosted at “CRC- The Rink”

OBJECTIVE – To balance home and away contests while scheduling competitive games.  This will minimize travel costs as well as have a 3:1 ratio of practices to games.


~ Practice and Season begins September 10, 2019 (2 team practices per week)
~ Skills and Drills begins September 11, 2019 (1 session per week)
~ Games begin October 5th and conclude by March 1st (1 home ice slot every weekend)
~ 16u/18u teams will begin season no later than August 15 to satisfy USA hockey game count requirements

       ·       10 team practices, required before the first game
       ·       8 individual practices, required before first game
       ·       Game limit guidelines per level per season:

       o   Squirts  (1)   N.T.B.     30  + 3 Away Tournaments or overnight event allowed
o   Squirt    (2)   N.T.B.     30  + 3 Away Tournaments or overnight event allowed 
o   Pee Wee (1) T.B          30  +  3 Away Tournaments or overnight event allowed
o   Pee Wee (2) N.T.B      30  +  3 Away Tournaments or overnight event allowed
o   Bantam                       30  +  3 Away Tournaments or overnight event allowed
o   16 u  N.T.B                  20  + 2 Away Tournaments or overnight event allowed
o   18 u   T.B.                    20  + 2 Away Tournaments or overnight event allowed

Fall sport seasons take the precedence over the beginning of hockey season.  Parents should manage participation accordingly and work with coaches.


  • One practice “option” per day suggested, (any Fall school sport)  “Fall” In policy – “Spring Out” policy
  • One day off per week from hockey – day of rest policy
  • Three game hockey weekends are not recommended unless roster size is a minimum of 16 player quantity. Tournaments are exceptions


  • SQ , PW, BANTAMS teams may schedule a maximum of three tournaments or overnight events. Away tournaments or overnight event weekends are funded 100% by parents. 
  • The tournament scheduling limitations excludes advancement tournaments such as Sectionals, Silver Stick or NYS State Tournament. Parents/Guardians and coaches will also be responsible to fund advancement tournament play.
  • 16u and 18u two overnight events are permitted and are the financial burden of each team.
  • All Tournament entry fees will be paid directly by Finger Lakes Regional Hockey Assoc. Team managers will be responsible for collecting fees from parents, submitting to Finger Lakes and then payment will be made directly from Finger Lakes to Tournament Director or company. 
  • The Board of Directors and its Tournament Director with coaches will work together to select proper tournaments of all age divisions.

School attendance is important – Therefore, scheduling efforts should be made to eliminate the need for athletes to be absent from school.



  • Mites will be broken into two division first year players and second year players
  • First year - Practice training and in house games against one another and randomly other teams
  • Second year – Practice training and games against other associations some travel
  • Move Up Policy- If a first year player shows exceptional skills he or she will be moved to advanced     second year age division.
  • All Mite parents must register players thru prior to entering the ice surface. NO Exceptions.  All aspects of registration including payment must be completed by this time.
  • Learn to play ages 4 thru 6 is free offered by CRC from 10/4 thru 11/3
  • Initiation Program begins November 9th ends March 1st all players must register before entering the ice


  • Learn to Play hockey begins 10/4 thru 11/3 “free” offered by Community Recreational Center
  • Initiation program begins 11/9 ages 4 and 5 $195.00 due 11/7/2019 (
  • Mites program begins 10/4 ages 6,7,8  $480.00 due 9/30/2019 (


May 4th & 5th  ($150.00 tryout fee made payable by check: finger lakes regional hockey assoc.)

If selected for the team $100 will be removed from season league fees. Those not selected there will be no refund granted.

Players attending tryouts that were not registered as central outlaws last year must show proof of player release form. It must be signed by president of your previous association and submitted in hard copy.



All Travel Teams register online with payment in Full by 9/1/2019

Travel teams:

  • Squirt Travel birth year 2009, 2010 – $1380 due 9/1/2018 applied tryout credit $100
  • Pee Wee birth year 2007, 2008 - $1380 due 9/1/2018 applied tryout credit $100
  • Bantam birth year 2005, 2006 - $1380 due 9/1/2018 applied tryout credit $100
  • 16u / 18u birth year 2001,2002,2003,2004 - $980 due 8/15/2018 applied tryout credit $100


Wednesday, May 8, 2019 team rosters will be posted with selected players for the 2019-2020 season on, Player/Association Commitment forms are to be signed immediately at the end of the second and final tryout. Any player leaving the final tryout without a signed commitment form will not be considered for team rostering.

Players not selected for the team- will not be posted on the website and commitment forms will be terminated at this time.   

Without a signed commitment form you cannot be considered for the 2019-2020 season. This policy has been set forth by NYSAHA Central Section President- Gary Lebrun- USA Hockey Central Section District Director


Travel (2) Teams:

Tryouts are August 10th, 2019. FLRHA will be offering a Squirt and Pee Wee N.T.B. Independent travel teams this season. A secondary Squirt and Pee Wee Travel team will be offered this season, two practices, one skills session, 30 games. Tryout fees are $150 non- refundable if you are selected $100 is applied to season fee structure.

  • Squirt birth year 2009, 2010 - $1380.00 is due 9/1 applied tryout credit $100
  • Pee Wee Birth Year 2007-2008 - $1380.00 is due 9/1 applied tryout credit $100

Players selected for this team will be posted on the website By August 13, 2019

All players must sign Association / Player Commitment form at the end of tryout – Players will not be considered if this form is not completed. If you are not selected for the team you will not appear on the website and the commitment form will be terminated.

Tryout Fees are $150 non- refundable made payable to Finger Lakes Regional Hockey Assoc. if selected $100 will be credited towards season fees

Season Begins:  September 10th  thru March 1st.

These players are required to attend 8 team practices before scheduling or playing in their first game.
