The organizations offering this opportunity through professional coaches and instruction acknowledge the benefit of children being well rounded athletes and not sport specific players. They have collectively agreed to work together to introduce athletics to children in a manner that enhances ability and social athletic experiences. By providing players the opportunity to develop multiple skills through various sport experiences, we can assist them in developing their gross and fine motor skills.  The training that we are offering via “The Intro into Athletics'' allows kids to have fun while developing complementary skills for each of the sports.  Community Recreational Center coupled with our program club administrators have leveraged our collective strengths to deliver a program model that is efficient, low cost, convenient for parents and best of all….fun for the kids.

*Equipment for these programs is the responsibility of parents- contact Instant Replay Sports for intro packages.*

Participation is important please try to attend as many sessions as possible, however we do understand some conflicts may occur. The concept is introducing children to a variety of sports that complement one another through athletic training, philosophy, and specific challenging situations. It is only through dedication and participation that this is possible.

Go online today and register for this incredible opportunity of “free introduction to sports” www.fingerlakeshockey.com register for the initiation “IP” program and purchase USA hockey membership. Parents only pay the required insurance and equipment cost.

The collective efforts by these athletic clubs are to create athletes, not sport specific players. We understand as players get older, the opportunity to compete in athletics will narrow and kids will select their own specific specialized sport. However, at the early ages, we feel it’s the obligation of athletic clubs to offer and work together to create programming and schedules that allow players to participate in a variety of sports.

Community Recreation Center, Lansing Rec Department, Petri Skating Instruction, Finger Lakes Regional Hockey Assoc. - Central Outlaws, Tompkins Girls Hockey Association – TGHA,  Ithaca Youth Soccer Academy are committed to providing an affordable program format and a sensible schedule that allows parents and players the opportunity to participate in multiple, quality athletic programs.  The “Intro the Athletics'' programming is administered by experienced coaches with an emphasis placed on creating a positive athletic experience for all that participate.

All sessions are hosted at The Community Recreational Center 1767 East Shore Drive, Ithaca, NY 14850- www.crcithaca.com   / A 501-C3 NOT FOR PROFIT CORPORATION.
